Medium Trek
OUTLINE ITINERARY:
DAY 01 : JAYAPURA-ARRIVAL ( D )
Arrival of at the airport of Jayapura, meeting
service then transfer to Sentani Indah hotel or
similar for your overnight stay and dinner.
DAY 02 : JAYAPURA – WAMENA (B,L,D)
Early Wake-up call, after breakfast transfer to
the airport for your 40 minutes flight to Wamena,
Transfer to Hotel. Full day sightseeing in
Wamena Baliem Valley.
DAY 03 : WAMENA SOGOKMO - KURIMA - ANJELMA –
KILISE (B,L,D)
Walk to city then you have 35 minutes drive to
sogokmo with accompanied also by your porters
and cook, the starting point of the trekking to
Kurima and Anjelma for abour 4-5hours. After
lunch continue from Anjelma trek 3 hours to our
destination village of Kilise, Along the trails,
you will meet local people in their activities
and yet the scenery is very beautiful around. In
the afternoon you may explore the traditional
villages and learn about the people way of life.
Dinner and stay at local guest house of Kilise
or local house
DAY 04 : KILISE - USEREM (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you are proceed to descend the
steep hill down to traditional hanging bridge
across Baliem river. Today's walk is a little
harder with narrow and slippery paths. But you
may also enjoying the nature' s beauty. Trek
will be around 3-4 hours.
DAY 05 : USEREM - SYOKOSIMO (B,L,D)
After this part, the path gets smaller and
tricky until you find another river with no
bridge to cross. The village to stay overnight
called Syokosimo. Dinner and overnight in local
guest house provided by the teacher of Syokosimo
village. (Walk approx. 3-4 hours)
DAY 06 : SYOKOSIMO - HITUGI (B,L,D)
The trekking today is the shortest one. After
breakfast you are proceed to continue the trek
up to a village called Hitugi. Climbing up the
hill all the way to the village is something
different, but the scenery is incredibly
beautiful combined with small villages and local
people working in the field You arrive to the
village by noon where the cook is ready to serve
lunch. Explore Hitugi village in the afternoon
and interacted with the locals. Dinner and
overnight stay at Hitugi village. (Walk
approx.3-4 hours)
DAY 07 : HITUGI - SEIMA/UGEM (B,L,D)
After breakfast, leaving Hitugi for next
destination of Seima or Ugem village. The walk
today is not very difficult as the trails wider
and panorama is so evicting. Walk for about 3-4
hours.
DAY 08 : SEIMA/UGEM - KURIMA - SOGOKMO -
WAMENA (B,L,D)
After breakfast, walk for about 2,5 hours then
cross another hanging bridge over Baliem River.
Then from Baliem river 30 minutes till the
village of Sogokmo where the car ready to take
you back to Wamena. Lunch served en route Dinner
at local restaurant in town. O/N : Baliem Pilamo
Hotel or similar. (Walk approx 3-4 hours)
DAY 09 : WAMENA - JIWIKA - WAMENA (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel, drive to Jiwika in the north
of Baliem valley, a village well-known with its
old smoked mummy. You may explore the
traditional village around, or climb the Mili
mountain where salt pool exist on top. Here you
will learn how the locals doing their
traditional salt process. Lunch served en route.
At noon, enjoy a local performance such as
mocked war and traditional dance. Today you
can be interacted with the local Dani people and
learn about their way of life. Afternoon back to
Wamena for dinner and overnight at hotel
DAY 10 : WAMENA - JAYAPURA (B,L,D)
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport of
Wamena and depart to Jayapura. end of service.
