14DAYS ASMAT - KOROWAY TRIBE EXPEDITION (Code AKE 003)

Sept.01: Arrival Jakarta/Denpasar Participants meet at Jakarta or (Bali)Denpasar Airport in the late evening hours. Then depart to Jayapura.

Sept.02: Arrival Jayapura (Papua) Some of  the participants join with the group in Jayapura,  today we need several hours to arrange necessary permits for Papua. Free Program or relax at the hotel.

Sept.03: Jayapura - Wamena Departure to Wamena by Trigana regular Flight. Arrive in Wamena sightseeing visit Jibama local market, Mummy, Mock War, Dance and climb salt lake. Stay at hotel.

Sept.04: Wamena-Yaniruma by charter missionary flight in 1 hour to Yaniruma, more preparation before start the adventure for the next day.

Sept.05-Sept08: Expedition to Koroway-Kombai Tribe We begin our 4days expedition into the Korowai or Kombai tribe through the dense tropical rain forest. we will trek through the swampy lowland, crossing the rivers by paddle local canoe or walk over the fallen tree serves as a bridge in a small river. Everyday we walk 6 - 7 hours approx. with local people support carry our bags, food and other camping equipment to find and meet the Korowai or Kombai who build their houses on the top of the trees (9 - 25 m above the ground).

Sept.09:  Koroway - Yaniruma
Breakfast, walking back to Yaniruma for about 6 hours, lunch will serve by boxes en route. Before we arrive in Yaniruma we will stop at the river for cleaning our dirty clothes and body from the muddy. late afternoon arrive in Yaniruma, dinner and stay at Mission house or tents.

Sept.10: Yaniruma - Senggo by motorized canoe sail down to reach Senggo village for about 9hours. stay at guest houses(losmen).

Sept.11-Sept.13: Adventure to the Asmat Area by motorized canoe adventure to the Asmat area for 2days, enjoy the Asmat ceremony such as Musk Spirit dance. Stay at school or local houses.

Sept.14: Agat - Timika
Early morning after breakfast, by motorized canoe sailing through Arafuru ocean-open seas depart to Timika for about 10-12 hours. On the way we will stop at small island for having lunch and straighten up the legs for several minutes, after lunch continue to Mapuru Jaya port and by  drive by car  to Timika. Dinner and stay at standard hotel.

Sept.15:  Timika - Departure
Breakfast at hotel, transfer by car to Timika airport for fly to Next destinations

The price includes: Air transport from Jayapura to Wamena, Charter Missionary Plane from Wamena to Yaniruma, hotel, accommodation in the villages/huts, all meals breakfast/lunch/dinner, land and  sea transport & Transfers from & to Airport, entrance fees to the villages, and an English speaking guide, Porter during trekking, ceremonies with Koroway Tribe & Asmat Tribe.

The price does not include: International flight to Jakarta/Denpasar and back, Domestic flight from Jakarta/Denpasar to Jayapura and back (we will make the booking upon request with standard price), entrance fees to other ceremonies and possible fees for taking photos, Laundry, telephone, beverage, personal expenses.
